Louvri Restaurant Branding

Louvri is a concept for a moody Chicago-based French bistro that combines the elegance of French culture with the richness and flavor of other cultures in the city. In addition to the brand, I scouted out a physical location for the restaurant, developed the interior feel, and created products and a website.

Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop. All photos are not mine and are for conceptual purposes only.

Chicago’s wide diversity was one of the main inspirations for this project. The goal of Louvri is to showcase home-cooked comfort food in a manner that is normally reserved for “high-end cuisine”. The main header is inspired by Caribbean poster typography, while the serif body type is reminiscent of traditional French styles. Colors throughout are drawn from both spices and pastries.

The name Louvri comes from a Creole word meaning “open”, which is the feeling the restaurant is meant to evoke—welcoming all with opened arms to join in the conversation. Learn more about the brand development process here.
